Gary Valenciano, known to millions as “Gary V” and “Mr. Pure Energy,” is one of the most celebrated and enduring figures in Philippine entertainment. For over four decades, the multi-awarded Filipino-Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, musician, actor, television host, producer, and arranger has inspired audiences around the world through electrifying performances, timeless music, and a message of faith, hope, and resilience.

Since his debut in 1983, Gary has released 39 albums and earned over 200 music awards and nominations, establishing himself as one of the most honored recording artists in the Philippines. His iconic songs—including Take Me Out of the Dark, Shout for Joy, Look in Her Eyes, Hataw Na, and Sana Maulit Muli—have become staples of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), touching generations of listeners both locally and internationally.

Beyond music, Gary built a successful career in film and television, starring in 14 movies and numerous television specials. He has also served as mentor, host, and judge on major television programs including The X Factor Philippines, Your Face Sounds Familiar, World of Dance Philippines, and Idol Philippines. For 22 years, he has remained one of the main musical icons and performers on Philippine television through the long-running variety show ASAP, where his performances continue to captivate millions of viewers worldwide.

In 2026, Gary continues to break new ground with Unshaken: Stories of Grit and Grace, becoming the first Philippine artist to launch an original podcast project with iHeartMedia. Launching in May 2026, the inspirational series reflects his lifelong advocacy for faith, resilience, and hope.

Gary’s concert legacy includes performances in some of the world’s most prestigious venues and one of the largest concert crowds in Philippine history during his landmark 1989 “Nagmamahal (Love), Gary V” concert at the Luneta Grandstand in Manila. He has brought his music to audiences across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

A survivor of Type 1 diabetes for 48 years, as well as heart bypass surgery, kidney cancer, and multiple serious illnesses including pneumonia, tuberculosis, and hepatitis, Gary continues to inspire millions through his testimony of faith and perseverance. Together with his wife Angeli and the Shining Light Foundation, he remains deeply committed to philanthropy, uplifting communities through scholarship, feeding, medical, and livelihood programs.
